FAQ
Curtain size calculator FAQ
These answers explain the calculator's assumptions and the curtain width, length, fullness, panel count, and package-label measurements that matter before checkout.
Should curtain width be based on the window or the rod?
Use the rod or track width if it is already installed. If not, start from the window width and add stack-back on both sides.
Why does a 52 inch panel not cover 52 inches after hanging?
The listed width is flat fabric width. Once the panel is gathered, it covers less horizontal space. Fullness is the difference.
How many panels should I buy?
Divide total fabric width by one panel's flat width, then round up. Buying one extra panel can help with very wide windows.
What length is easiest to live with?
Hover length is practical because it clears the floor. Kiss length is more tailored. Break and puddle finishes are more decorative.
Do sheers need more fullness?
Usually yes. Sheer fabric often looks sparse below 2.5x fullness, especially across wide glass.
Can the calculator replace product instructions?
No. It is a planning tool. Always check the retailer's measurement notes, hardware limits, and whether panels are sold individually or in pairs.
